At the forefront of this movement is Audition Ready, the innovative digital platform designed to support aspiring performers. Recognising that traditional audition preparation methods may not suit everyone, Audition Ready provides tailored self-learning tools to help individuals build confidence and develop skills at their own pace.

With features including step-by-step audition breakdowns, guided performance playlists, accessible recall preparation, and specialised coaching from industry professionals, Audition Ready provides a structured yet flexible approach to learning. The platform’s video-based content and interactive tools cater to a variety of learning styles.

The industry’s growing neurodiversity awareness is also reflected in casting decisions and production environments. Major theatre productions are adopting relaxed rehearsal spaces, audition accommodations, and clearer communication methods to empower neurodivergent actors. Drama schools and casting directors are increasingly recognising the importance of confidence-building techniques, alternative learning structures, and sensory-conscious audition spaces—all of which are values championed by Audition Ready.

As the landscape of the performing arts continues to evolve, Audition Ready remains dedicated to breaking barriers and empowering performers of all abilities to achieve their dreams. The event showcased dazzling performances from a variety of schools, including standout numbers from Cabaret, Legally Blonde, and Mean Girls. Adding to the magic were breathtaking solo performances by the finalists of the Kerry Ellis Search for a Star competition, who left the audience in awe.

The grand finale brought all 300+ performers together for a show-stopping number, raising the roof and leaving an unforgettable impression on everyone in attendance.

This marks the second Perform Ready event at the Indigo, with anticipation already building for the third, set to take place on Sunday, 30th March 2025.

The workshop, designed to nurture emerging talent, brought together two industry powerhouses: Claire Cassidy and Jodie Oliver-Hoar.

Claire Cassidy, a highly regarded instructor and a familiar face on the Audition Ready app, led participants through dynamic dance sessions, recalls, and callback exercises. Known for her expert guidance, Claire’s teaching sessions—available on the app—continue to inspire performers at every stage of their journey. Her presence added both professionalism and energy to the event.

Joining Claire was Jodie Oliver-Hoar, whose expertise perfectly complemented the day’s theme. Together, the duo delivered an immersive “In the Style of Matilda” workshop, combining movement, performance techniques, and insider tips. Attendees left with sharpened skills, boosted confidence, and a deeper appreciation for performing in the style of the iconic musical.
