Bio

Gerry Tebbutt is a highly respected director, tutor, and lecturer with a rich and varied career in theatre spanning over four decades. He trained at Arts Educational Schools London and began his professional journey as a performer, appearing in a variety of stage productions before transitioning into directing, where he found his true passion.

Gerry has directed numerous major productions across the UK, including The Sound of Music and Oliver! on national tours, as well as acclaimed versions of The Wizard of Oz at Sadler’s Wells and Peter Pan at Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre. His work has featured at Birmingham Repertory Theatre, Ye Olde Rose and Crown, and with youth companies such as the National Youth Music Theatre. He is widely known for his ability to draw out truthful, heartfelt performances from both emerging and experienced actors.

In addition to his directing career, Gerry is a dedicated educator. He lectures in musical theatre and acting at several leading performing arts institutions, including ArtsEd and Performers College. His calm, thoughtful approach and deep industry insight make him a trusted mentor and a valued voice in the training of the next generation of performers.
